We offer 2 types of floating shelf which covers various models. Our cost effective All-Wood shelfs have a 2 piece design, that incorporates 3/4” wooden dowels at 10” intervals. The All-Wood models are considered light duty and although they are very sturdy we advertise them as up to 60lb capacity.

Our hidden steel bracket hidden shelves and hidden mantels have a load capacity dependent on the number of wall studs to which any individual steel bracket is fastened. Our 1” heavy guage steel bracket is rated at 50lb per stud, our 2” bracket is rated at 60lb per stud and our mighty 3” bracket is also rated at 65lb per stud. Effectively an 8 foot 4” thick hidden shelf mantel with a 3” bracket can have a load capacity over 400lbs.

Only our All-Wood floating shelves can be mounted to drywall without direct installation to the studs behind the drywall. While this is possible it is NOT advised to install our shelves without mounting them to the wooden or metal studs behind the drywall.
